ST. JOHN'S | N.L. - On April 28th, Emergency crews were called to the scene of a single-vehicle crash Monday night on the Trans-Canada Highway, just west of the Foxtrap Access Road.

The incident happened shortly before 8:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes, approximately three kilometers from the interchange. When first responders arrived, they found a heavily damaged pickup truck off the highway and in a ditch.

Firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department (SJRFD) assessed the scene and checked on the vehicle’s occupant or occupants. It’s not yet known how many people were in the truck at the time, but at least one individual was treated by paramedics and taken to an NL Health Services ambulance.

It’s unclear if the person was transported to hospital; however, reports from the scene suggest that medical transport was required.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. There were no immediate updates on the condition of those involved.
