SECOND MAN ARRESTED FOLLOWING TORBAY ASSAULT AND FIREARMS INVESTIGATION

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has arrested a second man in connection with an assault and firearms investigation on Motion Drive in Torbay.
Police originally responded on Oct. 1st after receiving a report of a weapons offence. The RNC says a woman had been assaulted the previous day and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
A search warrant was later executed at the residence, where police seized two long guns and ammunition. One man was arrested in Paradise later that night, while police sought a warrant for a second suspect.
At approximately 7:00 p.m. on Oct. 5th, 26-year-old Coady Careen was taken into custody.
Careen is charged with:
Assault
Carelessly using a firearm
Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
Unauthorized possession of a firearm
Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
Uttering threats to damage property
Mischief by damaging property
He was held in custody to appear in court today.
