77-YEAR-OLD MAN DECEASED AFTER BEING STRUCK SCHOOL BUS

A 77-year-old man has died following a pedestrian-vehicle collision in St. John’s Friday morning.
First responders responded to the intersection of Allandale Road and Prince Philip Drive at approximately 10:30 a.m. following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
Police say the 77-year-old pedestrian succumbed to his injuries after being struck by a school bus.
The driver of the school bus was not injured, remained at the scene, and is cooperating with investigators. There were no passengers onboard the bus at the time of the collision.
The RNC says the investigation remains ongoing and is not believed to be criminal in nature.
Police are offering their sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has video footage, including CCTV, dash camera, or cell phone recordings from the area before or immediately after the incident, to contact the RNC at 709-729-8000.
The RNC also notes that witnesses or bystanders may experience secondary trauma and encourages anyone requiring mental health support to call 811.
