FIREARM STOLEN AFTER BREAK-IN AT RABBITTOWN HOME

(April 10th) - The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is requesting the public’s help in a break-and-enter investigation in St. John’s where a firearm was stolen.
Sometime between 11 p.m. April 7 and 9 a.m. April 8, someone gained access to a home in the Rabbittown area and left with a firearm that had been stored in a gun cabinet.
The firearm, which is believed to be inoperable, is described as a Winchester 75, 22 caliber single shot rifle.
The investigation is ongoing and the RNC is asking anyone with information, or video footage (CCTV or dash-cam) from the area encompassing Freshwater Road, Empire Avenue, Mayor Avenue, and Merrymeeting Road during the time of the offence to please contact the RNC at 709-729-8000.
