HIT-AND-RUN IN TORBAY DAMAGES HOME AND TWO VEHICLES

Police are investigating a hit-and-run collision on Torbay Road in Torbay that damaged two parked vehicles and caused structural damage to a home Saturday evening.

Emergency crews were called to the residence at approximately 6:05 p.m. Members of the Torbay Volunteer Fire Department and Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded and found two unoccupied vehicles damaged in the driveway.

The impact pushed one of the vehicles into the home, causing damage to the structure. No injuries were reported from within the home.

Torbay Road was closed between Flemings Hill and North Pond Road while emergency crews worked at the scene and police carried out their investigation. Officers with the RNC’s Accident Investigations Unit also attended.

Information gathered at the scene indicates a red Toyota, travelling towards Torbay Beach, struck the two parked vehicles before fleeing the area. Red debris from the suspect vehicle was found at the scene, including two Toyota hubcaps.

The RNC continues to investigate the collision.
