NEW MARINE FERRY ALMOST READY FOR SERVICE

Marine Atlantic’s “Île Rouge” has arrived in North Sydney as preparations continue for the vessel to enter service later this fall.

According to Marine Atlantic, the coming weeks will involve familiarization and training activities for teams across the organization, as well as the process of reflagging the vessel.

The ferry can accommodate 821 passengers and has 146 cabins, including 48 cabins designated for passengers travelling with pets.

The Île Rouge also offers 82 reclining seats and panoramic views.

Marine Atlantic says the work currently underway is aimed at ensuring the vessel is ready to begin service later this fall.
