ONE DECEASED, ONE IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING INCIDENT IN GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR

An increased police presence in the Crescent Heights area of Grand Falls-Windsor earlier this morning has now been confirmed to have resulted in the death of one individual and the arrest of another.

At approximately 6:30 a.m. on April 10, Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP advised the public of a heavy police presence in the area as officers responded to an ongoing investigation. Residents and motorists were asked to avoid the area while police carried out their work.

In an update issued at 12:00 p.m., Police confirmed that the incident has since concluded, with one person deceased and another individual taken into custody; however investigation remains ongoing.

Police have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the incident at this time. It was previously indicated that there was no ongoing risk to public safety.

The investigation remains active, and further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
