ST. JOHN’S MAN FACING TRAFFICKING CHARGES AFTER COCAINE, HASHISH SEIZED

A 59-year-old St. John’s man is facing multiple drug trafficking charges following an RNC investigation that resulted in the seizure of cocaine, hashish, prescription pills, cash and other items.
James Kelloway was arrested at his home in central St. John’s on July 8 as part of an investigation by the RNC Weapons and Drug Enforcement Unit.
Police subsequently searched two properties and reported seizing:
• More than six ounces of cocaine
• Approximately one kilogram of hashish
• Prescription pills
• Contraband cigarettes
• Canadian currency
• Drug paraphernalia
Kelloway was initially released while police awaited the results of drug testing.
On September 8, he was charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
He is expected to appear in court at a later date.
