MOTORCYCLE & SUV COLLIDE IN CBS

(July 23rd)

Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle collision in Conception Bay South on Thursday afternoon (July 23).

Shortly before 2:00 p.m., first responders were called to Conception Bay Highway between Villa Nova Road and Dawsons Run, directly in front of A&W, following a collision involving an SUV and a motorcycle.

When emergency crews arrived, they located the injured motorcycle rider. The rider was treated at the scene before being placed on a stretcher and transported to hospital by ambulance with injuries considered to be non-life threatening.

Due to the severity of the crash, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s Collision Investigations Team was engaged to investigate.

The collision caused extensive damage to both the motorcycle and the SUV. The occupants of the SUV were not injured.

Traffic on Conception Bay Highway was reduced to one alternating lane for approximately an hour or more while investigators examined the scene. As the investigation neared completion, the roadway reopened to one lane in each direction.
