~ 4:00 p.m; Traffic along the Trans-Canada Highway from the St. John’s Metro area to Channel-Port aux Basques is currently seeing some slowdowns through construction zones. However, there appear to be no significant traffic disruptions for motorists. The list below will go from east to west.

1. Foxtrap Access Road and TCH interchange is currently seeing some slowdowns heading eastbound and westbound. The TCH remains down to one lane of travel in each direction. There are no significant delays at time of publication.

2. Veterans Memorial Highway and TCH interchange is currently seeing light slowdowns heading eastbound. The TCH’s eastbound off-ramp to Veterans Memorial Highway remains closed due to ongoing construction. There are no significant delays at time of publication.

3. TCH just west of Benton is currently seeing some traffic backups and slowdowns in both directions due to ongoing construction. There are no significant delays at time of publication.

4. TCH at the Birchy Narrows Bridge is currently seeing some slowdowns due to ongoing construction. There are no significant delays at time of publication.

5. TCH at the Route 460 interchange is currently seeing some traffic slowdowns due to ongoing construction. There are no significant delays at time of publication.

6. TCH just west of St. Andrews is currently seeing some slowdowns due to ongoing construction. There are no significant delays at time of publication.

Motorists travelling along the Trans-Canada Highway are recommended to use caution, reduce speeds in construction zones, and drive according to current road and traffic conditions. Please allow extra time for travel and watch for workers and changing traffic patterns.
