Emergency crews responded to the interchange of the Trans Canada Highway, also known as the Outer Ring Road, and the Portugal Cove Road exits in St. John’s on Thursday evening following a report of a motor vehicle collision.

The call came in shortly before 7:00 p.m. Firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department arrived in the area, but it took some time for crews to locate the vehicle as the vehicle was hidden in brush.

The vehicle was eventually found overturned on its roof in the ditch along the Portugal Cove Road northbound on-ramp to the Outer Ring Road eastbound.

Firefighters assessed the scene and determined there were no occupants inside the vehicle. A small search of the area surrounding the vehicle was also checked and found to be clear.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary confirmed Friday morning that the collision actually occurred on August 30th. There were no injuries reported, and the vehicle is being recovered by the owner.

In the meantime, first responders placed caution tape around the vehicle to indicate that the scene had been attended to by emergency crews.
