LOCAL BUSINESS DONATES NEW RESCUE BOAT TO SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAM

(Sept 8th)
A Grand Falls-Windsor business has donated a brand new rescue boat to Exploits Search and Rescue Team, providing an important new asset for emergency response operations in Central Newfoundland.
Merle’s Parts & Recreation Ltd., a family-owned powersports and marine dealership located on Hardy Avenue in Grand Falls-Windsor, donated a 14-foot inflatable rescue boat.
Expolits Search and Rescue shared its appreciation for the donation online, calling the boat a “valuable asset” to the team.
The organization said it hopes the new boat will only be needed for training purposes, while recognizing the importance of having the equipment available should an emergency occur.
The team expressed its thanks to Merle’s Parts & Recreation Ltd. on behalf of all its members for the donation.
The new inflatable rescue boat will provide Exploits Search and Rescue with an additional resource as the team carries out its search and rescue responsibilities.
