TWO PEOPLE IN CUSTODY AFTER RCMP POLICE OPERATION

A police operation in a Happy Valley-Goose Bay N.L, neighbourhood has safely concluded, with two individuals taken into police custody.

At approximately 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9th, Happy Valley-Goose Bay RCMP advised that officers were conducting a police operation in the areas of Winsor Drive and Adams Loop.

Police asked residents and travellers to avoid the area while officers worked. The RCMP said there was no general risk to public safety.

At approximately 11:40 a.m., police confirmed the operation had concluded safely and that two individuals had been taken into custody.

Residents can now return to their regular activities in the area. However, an ongoing police presence will remain in the community as the investigation continues.

RCMP thanked residents and the community for their patience and cooperation throughout the operation.

At this time, RCMP have not released further details surrounding the operation or any specific charges involving the two individuals.
