RCMP ARREST MAN ON PROVINCE-WIDE WARRANT

Gander RCMP arrested a 45-year-old man who was the subject of a province-wide warrant after responding to a traffic hazard on Magee Road Tuesday night.

On September 8, around 9:40 p.m., officers approached a vehicle that was parked in a dangerous manner and obstructing traffic on Magee Road.

The driver was unable to provide valid insurance or registration documents. Police also learned that his driver’s licence was suspended.

Checks confirmed the driver was the subject of an active warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody and held to appear in provincial court.

The vehicle was uninsured and unregistered and was seized by police and impounded.

The man also received tickets for violations under the Highway Traffic Act.
