HIT-AND-RUN VEHICLE LOCATED AT WADLAND CRESCENT APARTMENT BUILDING

A vehicle believed to be involved in a hit-and-run collision in St. John’s was quickly located Thursday night after being found damaged at an apartment building on Wadland Crescent.
At approximately 9:45 p.m. on May 21st, officers with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to a reported hit-and-run collision on Elizabeth Avenue near New Cove Road, in front of Pipers.
According to police, officers located the suspect vehicle within minutes at the Northview apartment building on Wadland Crescent.
Firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department were called to the parking lot of the apartment building following reports of a vehicle fire. When crews arrived, there was no active fire, however the vehicle had sustained significant damage consistent with the collision.
Members of the RNC Collision Investigations Team attended the scene to document the damaged vehicle as part of the investigation.
No injuries were reported. Police say the vehicle was seized, and the investigation remains ongoing.
