52-Year-Old Man Facing Multiple Charges Following Assault Call in St. John’s

A 52-year-old man has been arrested and charged following a reported assault in St. John’s on Saturday afternoon.
At approximately 1:30 p.m., officers with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) responded to a call reporting that a man was assaulting a woman.
Upon arrival, police located the individuals involved and arrested the suspect. The man has been charged with one count of choking/overcoming resistance, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, public mischief, breach of probation, and two counts of breaching his release order.
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court.
