Car Fire Spreads to Detached Garage in Paradise

St. John’s Regional Fire Department responded to reports of a residential structure fire just after midnight on March 7, 2025, at a home in Paradise. Upon arrival, fire crews found an SUV fully engulfed in flames, parked next to a detached garage.

The fire appeared to have started outside of the vehicle before spreading to the side of the small garage, causing significant damage to the structure and completely destroying the SUV. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and ensured there were no remaining hotspots in the garage.

Fortunately, there was no damage to surrounding homes, and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
