Shed Fire Quickly Knocked Down in Cowan Heights

Shortly before noon on Saturday, February 14, firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department responded to a reported shed fire at a residential property on Burgeo Street in the Cowan Heights area of St. John’s.

Upon arrival, crews observed heavy smoke visible in the sky and quickly moved to contain the blaze. Firefighters began suppression efforts immediately and achieved a quick knockdown, preventing the fire from spreading beyond the shed.

As emergency crews worked the scene, Burgeo Street between Frecker Drive and Canada Drive was temporarily closed to traffic to ensure public safety and allow firefighters to operate safely.

There didn’t appear to be any injuries in connection with the incident. The cause of the fire has not been released.
