DANGEROUS PASSING INCIDENT ON TCH UNDER INVESTIGATION

Placentia-Whitbourne RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver of a vehicle reported for dangerous operation on the Trans-Canada Highway.

Around 1:00 p.m. on August 21, police received a report of a white Honda sedan, possibly an Accord, travelling eastbound on the Trans-Canada Highway east of Bellevue.

The vehicle was reportedly observed passing another vehicle where it was unsafe to do so, nearly resulting in a collision with oncoming traffic.

The caller was able to provide police with dash camera footage of the incident, and the matter remains under investigation.

RCMP are asking anyone who witnessed a white Honda sedan being driven in an unsafe manner on the eastbound Trans-Canada Highway in the area, or anyone who may have dash camera footage, to contact Placentia-Whitbourne RCMP at 709-759-2600.
