Forest Fire Near Downtown Carbonear Draws Multi-Unit Fire Response

Carbonear, NL – May 31, - At approximately 1:35 p.m., the Carbonear Volunteer Fire Department responded to reports of a forest fire in the vicinity of Don’s Restaurant and Dollarama. The emergency call prompted a swift response, with Pumper 1, the Crew Truck, and the Equipment Van deployed to the scene.


In a coordinated effort, Pumper 4 from the Harbour Grace Volunteer Fire Brigade was also dispatched to assist in containing the blaze.


The fire was quickly brought under control thanks to the prompt and professional actions of the responding crews. No injuries have been reported at this time, and authorities are continuing to monitor the area for flare-ups.


Residents are reminded that a total fire ban remains in effect for the Town of Carbonear, due to dry conditions and the heightened risk of wildfires. The public is urged to comply with all fire safety regulations and report any signs of smoke or fire immediately.
