A pedestrian was taken to hospital Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle in the Goulds area of St. John’s.
At about 7:10 p.m. on March 6, firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department responded to a vehicle–pedestrian collision on Main Road between Doyles Road and Durdle Drive. Officers with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and paramedics from NL Health Services also responded to the scene.
When crews arrived, they found a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. The vehicle involved remained at the scene and had minor damage.
Firefighters and paramedics treated the injured person at the scene before placing them on a stretcher and taking them to a nearby ambulance. The pedestrian was then transported to hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
While emergency crews worked at the scene, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary closed Main Road between Keith’s Diner and Durdle Drive to allow responders to safely manage the situation.
