SUV Destroyed by Fire in Downtown St. John's; No Injuries

St. John's, N.L. — Firefighters with the St. John's Regional Fire Department (SJRFD) responded to a vehicle fire on Wednesday afternoon just after 4:00 p.m. on Duckworth Street near Church Hill.
Upon arrival, fire crews found an SUV fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters quickly deployed an attack line and were able to knock down the blaze within seconds. Despite the swift response, the vehicle sustained significant damage and was ultimately destroyed.
At the time of the fire, the SUV was occupied by two individuals. According to reports from the scene, the occupants noticed smoke and were able to exit the vehicle safely before it became fully involved. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire has not been released, and officials have not provided additional details at this time.
Duckworth Street was temporarily impacted by emergency response activity, but normal traffic flow has since resumed.
