SUV OVERTURNS IN COWAN HEIGHTS COLLISION

Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle collision in the Cowan Heights area of St. John’s on Friday afternoon that left an SUV overturned.

The crash occurred just before 4:00 p.m. on June 19 at the intersection of Canada Drive and Burgeo Street and involved a pickup truck and an SUV.

Upon arrival, emergency responders found the SUV overturned and the pickup truck nearby. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage as a result of the collision.

Firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department and paramedics with NL Health Services assessed all individuals involved at the scene. Despite the damage to the vehicles, it did not appear that any serious injuries were sustained.

The intersection was partially blocked while emergency crews worked at the scene. The area was cleared and traffic returned to normal approximately one hour later.
