PICKUP TRUCK DESTROYED BY FIRE

(June 19th)

At approximately 4:40 p.m. on Friday (June 19th), firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department (SJRFD), along with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and NL Health Services, responded to a vehicle fire in the parking lot of Mary Brown’s on Elizabeth Drive in Paradise.

Upon arrival, emergency crews found the front end of a pickup truck fully engulfed in flames, with thick black smoke billowing from the scene.

Firefighters quickly deployed an attack line and were able to bring the fire under control in a short period of time. Despite their efforts, the pickup truck sustained extensive damage and was destroyed by the fire. The vehicle was not an electric vehicle.

There appeared to be no injuries to the vehicle’s occupant or occupants.

The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
