Two Males Uninjured After Vehicle Destroyed by Fire on Trans Canada Highway

(St. John’s, NL) – On Monday evening (November 3rd), just before 9:45 p.m., firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department (SJRFD) were called to a vehicle fire on the Trans Canada Highway, just east of the Foxtrap Interchange in the westbound lanes.


When fire crews arrived on the scene, they found a vehicle on the shoulder of the road fully engulfed in flames. Crews quickly deployed an attack line, utilizing specialized foam, to battle the fire. It was learned that the vehicle was also a hybrid.


Fire crews remained on the scene, using the specialized foam and water to fully extinguish and cool down the vehicle.


The two male occupants of the vehicle were out of the vehicle and were not injured in the incident. The vehicle was completely destroyed by the fire.


Traffic was slowed in the area while the incident was being dealt with
