Two Residents Displaced, One Sent to Hospital Following St John's House Fire

Just before 9:30 p.m. on Friday (September 12th), The St. John’s Regional Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire on Burton Street in St. John’s.

Two people were inside the home at the time of the fire. The homeowner called 911, reporting that the kitchen was on fire and that both occupants had exited safely.

One individual was transported to hospital for smoke inhalation. Firefighters were able to quickly contain the flames to the kitchen area, but water, fire, and overhaul efforts caused damage to that space. Smoke damage was also reported throughout the home.

Both occupants have been displaced as a result of the fire.
