The Town of Paradise is advising residents that a detour will be in place along a section of Topsail Road beginning at 6:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22, and continuing until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, August 23.

The detour is required to accommodate excavation work for a watermain connection in the commercial section of Topsail Road near Octagon Pond.

During the work, westbound traffic will be detoured through Clearview Heights, Mallow Drive, Lanark Drive and Glendarek Drive before returning to Topsail Road.

Eastbound traffic will be detoured through Tilting Place, Paddy Kay Drive and Clearview Heights before returning to Topsail Road at the McNamara Drive roundabout.

Access to businesses in Paradise Plaza will remain available through McNamara Drive. The new Tim Hortons at 1655 Topsail Road will be accessible from the west end.

Drivers are asked to follow all posted signage and directions from traffic control personnel while travelling through the area.

Water service may also be temporarily affected for residential properties on Topsail Road between Tilting Place and Clearview Heights. Residents in the affected area will be notified directly.

Once water service is restored, residents are reminded to run their taps for a few minutes to flush the water lines.

The Town apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the work and thanks residents for their patience and cooperation.
