Emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle crash on the Trans-Canada Highway westbound Tuesday morning.

Shortly before 9:00 a.m. on September 1st, Personnel from the St. John’s Regional Fire Department, Royal Canadian Mounted Police and NL Health Services were called to the scene, located a couple of kilometres east of the Butter Pot Park exit.

When first responders arrived, they located an overturned pickup truck in the right-hand ditch of the westbound lanes.

SJRFD firefighters assessed at least one person at the scene. Once NL Health Services paramedics arrived, one individual was assisted to a nearby ambulance for further assessment.

There did not appear to be any serious injuries as a result of the crash. The pickup truck sustained moderate to extensive damage.

Westbound traffic was slightly slowed in the area and reduced to one lane while emergency crews remained on scene.
