DRIVER FACES CRIMINAL CHARGE AFTER TRAFFIC STOP

A 40-year-old driver is facing criminal charges following a traffic stop in the City’s Centre on October 7, 2026.

At approximately 9:45 p.m., members of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services conducted a traffic stop.

As a result, the driver was issued a ticket for driving while suspended.

The driver was also criminally charged with mischief for misleading police during the course of their investigation, as well as breaching a release order.

The vehicle was impounded.
