Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Prince Philip Drive and Allendale Road in St. John’s on Wednesday evening.

Shortly before 5:30 p.m., firefighters, paramedics, and police were called to the scene. Upon arrival, crews found one vehicle in the middle of the intersection, while a second vehicle had left the roadway and crashed into a group of trees nearby.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage as a result of the collision.

St. John’s Regional Fire Department firefighters and NL Health Services paramedics assessed the occupants involved. At least one person was transported to hospital with injuries believed to be non-life threatening.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary closed a portion of the intersection, along with the south portion of Allendale Road near the scene, to allow emergency crews to work safely and while the damaged vehicles were removed by tow trucks.
