BASEMENT FIRE DISPLACES SEAL COVE RESIDENTS

Firefighters with the Conception Bay South Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the Seal Cove area of Conception Bay South late Sunday night (May 24th).

At around 11:00 p.m., firefighters along with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary were called to a home on Allison Road after reports of a fire inside the residence.

Upon arrival, emergency crews located a fire in the basement of the home. Firefighters quickly deployed at least two attack lines and began firefighting efforts to contain the fire.

Crews made quick work of the fire; however, the area where the fire was located sustained fire, water, and smoke damage. Smoke had spread throughout the home, though firefighters were able to clear it quickly.

At least three residents were displaced as a result of the fire. No injuries were reported.
