(2026 Winter Olympics)
A heartbreaking finish for Canada in the Olympic gold medal game.
After a hard-fought battle that was tied 1-1 through 60 minutes, the game was decided in sudden-death overtime, with the United States scoring the winner.
Canada pushed the pace throughout regulation, outshooting the Americans 41-26 and generating multiple high-danger chances. It took everything to get past this U.S. squad, but tonight the bounce went the other way.
There was no shootout in the gold medal game, just one goal to decide it all. Unfortunately for us, that goal didn’t come our way.
🇨🇦 Silver medalists.
🇨🇦 A team that battled until the very end.
🇨🇦 A team we are still proud of!
Proud of the effort. Proud of the team. Head held high.
