At approximately 12:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning, October 8th, emergency crews responded to reports of a motor vehicle collision on Kenmount Road, just east of Polina Road.

Upon arrival, responders found a motorcyclist injured on the ground, partially pinned under his motorcycle. A vehicle with front-end damage was located nearby. Firefighters stabilized the injured male until paramedics from NL Health Services (NLHS) arrived. Paramedics deployed a backboard, continued to stabilize the man, and carefully moved him onto the backboard, then onto a stretcher, before transporting him to hospital. His injuries were reported to be non-life-threatening.

The occupant(s) of the other vehicle appeared uninjured, though the vehicle sustained moderate to extensive damage.

Officers with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Patrol Services secured the scene, directed traffic, and took statements until the RNC’s Traffic Services Unit and Collision Reconstructionist Team arrived to conduct a detailed investigation.

As a result, the eastbound lanes of Kenmount Road between Polina Road and civic address 25 were closed while the scene was documented and vehicles removed.
