MULTIPLE THEFTS REPORTED IN COWAN HEIGHTS AREA IN RECENT DAYS

Several theft-related incidents have been reported in and around the Cowan Heights area of St. John’s in recent days, including the reported theft of multiple vehicles and other property.

A resident on Canada Drive reported on social media that their vehicle was stolen from their driveway and that their home was allegedly broken into, with property taken. The incident reportedly occurred around 5 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25th.

On Wednesday, August 26th, another resident in the Duntara Crescent area reported that their vehicle had been stolen from their driveway.

Another theft was reported several days earlier just outside Cowan Heights, in the area of New Pennywell Road, where a motorized bike was reported stolen.

Other smaller thefts, including thefts of bicycles, and other items of that nature, including reported shed break-ins have been shared in recent days and months. 

With several incidents reported within a relatively small area of St. John’s in recent days, NFLD Bulletin reached out to the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary for clarification.

Police confirmed that reports related to the vehicle thefts and break-in have been received and that investigations remain ongoing. No further information is being released at this time.
