SENATOR WELLS MEETS WITH FIREFIGHTERS TO DISCUSS SUPPORT FOR INJURED & FALLEN MEMBERS

Senator David Wells met with firefighters from across the St. John’s metro region at the Mount Pearl Fire Station to discuss issues affecting members of the profession.

Wells was joined by MP Rob Morrison, association representative Chad Walsh and members of the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 1075. The meeting was held at the Mount Pearl Fire Station located on Olympic Drive.

Wells said firefighters face danger as part of their job while working to keep communities safe. Among the issues discussed was the need for survivor benefits for firefighters killed as a result of their work.

The group also discussed providing a reasonable income for firefighters who are injured on the job while they recover. Wells said these issues are ones they will continue to advocate for.
