Pickup Truck Strikes Two Pedestrians in East End Intersection

Two pedestrians were taken to hospital Wednesday evening after being struck by a pickup truck in the east end of St. John’s.

The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 29 at the intersection of MacDonald Drive and Torbay Road. Emergency crews arrived to find two individuals who had been hit while crossing in the area.

Both pedestrians were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to first responders on scene.

Collision investigators and forensic personnel with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary attended the site to document evidence and assist with the investigation. Traffic in the area was slowed while crews worked.
