The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) responded to 262 calls for service in the past 24 hours. Arrests were made in connection with theft, breaches of release orders, break and enter, and mischief-related offences. Several individuals were conveyed to the St. John’s City Lockup to be held for court proceedings.
WEST END – THEFT UNDER $5000
~ 9:35 p.m: On October 22, 2025, members of the RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to a call of a theft in progress in the west end area of St. John’s. Upon arrival in the area, officers observed a male matching the description of the suspect and, as a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old male was arrested and charged with Theft Under $5000. The male was conveyed to the St. John’s City Lockup to be held for court.
CENTER CITY – TRESPASSING AT NIGHT / MISCHIEF / BREACH OF PROBATION
~ 11:30 p.m: On October 22, 2025, members of the RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to a call of a male breaking into vehicles in the center city area of St. John’s. Upon arrival, officers observed a male matching the description of the suspect. As a result of the investigation, a 43-year-old male was arrested for Trespassing at Night, Mischief, and two counts of Breach of Probation. The male was conveyed to the St. John’s City Lockup to be held for court in the morning.
WEST END – BREACH OF RELEASE ORDER
~ 12:00 a.m: On October 23, 2025, members of the RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) conducted a traffic stop in the west end area of St. John’s. Upon further investigation, a passenger in the vehicle was identified and found to be in breach of a release order. The 38-year-old male was arrested and charged with two breaches of a release order. The male was then conveyed to the St. John’s City Lockup to be held for court in the morning.
CENTER CITY – BREAK AND ENTER / MISCHIEF
~ 12:25 a.m: On October 23, 2025, members of the RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) responded to a call of a suspicious person in the center city area of St. John’s. Upon arrival, officers observed a male matching the description of the suspect. As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old male was arrested and charged with Break and Enter into a dwelling and two counts of Mischief Causing Property Damage. The male was conveyed to the St. John’s City Lockup to be held for court
