(Aug 25th)
Drivers across the metro area are experiencing traffic slowdowns and backups this afternoon as several construction projects and traffic changes continue at major intersections.
As of approximately 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25th, significant delays are being noticed at several locations.
The intersection of Portugal Cove Road, Airport Heights Drive and Majors Path is slowed in all directions due to construction of a roundabout.
On Prince Philip Drive eastbound at Livyers Loop, ongoing construction has reduced traffic to one lane, resulting in slower eastbound traffic.
Traffic is also very slow and backed up in all directions at Thorburn Road and Goldstone Street, where ongoing traffic safety changes and construction are taking place.
At Kenmount Road and Mount Carson Avenue, ongoing traffic changes and construction projects are causing significant delays. Kenmount Road eastbound is down to one lane and backed up, while westbound traffic is also slowed and reduced to one lane.
The intersection of St. Thomas Line and Plateau Park Drive is also experiencing slow traffic due to ongoing construction.
On Freshwater Road near Anderson Avenue, lanes are reduced and traffic is slowed as paving and construction work continues.
Drivers should expect more significant delays as the evening rush begins.
Motorists are recommended to use caution when travelling through construction zones, allow additional time for their commute and be patient with workers and other drivers.
