A 49-year-old Gambo man was arrested by Glovertown RCMP on Sunday after allegedly resisting arrest and assaulting police officers with a weapon.

Just before 11:30 a.m. on October 4, Glovertown RCMP responded to a report of a disturbance between two parties known to each other at a residence on Station Road.

When officers arrived, they learned that one man had allegedly uttered threats against the victim and approached them with a weapon.

The victim was not injured and had safely left the residence before police arrived. The victim was able to provide officers with the suspect’s name and description. Police also learned that the suspect was the subject of an active arrest warrant.

When officers arrived at the residence, they attempted to take the man into custody. Police say he became belligerent and struck two officers with a blunt object. One officer later attended hospital for assessment and treatment of minor injuries.

Lindsay Lush, 49, was arrested and transported to the Glovertown RCMP detachment. He was held in custody overnight to appear in provincial court on Monday.

In addition to matters already before the court, Lush is facing the following charges:

- Two counts of assaulting a peace officer with a weapon

- Assaulting a peace officer

- Resisting or obstructing a peace officer
