WORKER INJURED AFTER FALLING FROM HEIGHT AT PARADISE SCHOOL

(May 30th)

On Saturday morning (May 30th), emergency crews responded to a workplace accident at Octagon Pond Elementary on Sgt Donald Lucas Drive in Paradise.

At approximately 10:45 a.m., firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department, along with personnel from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and NL Health Services, were called to the scene.

When emergency services arrived, they located an injured worker who was allegedly working on a ladder inside the school at the time of the incident. The worker reportedly fell from an unknown height.

The injured worker was assessed at the scene by SJRFD firefighters and NL Health Services paramedics before being transported to hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The RNC remained at the scene investigating the matter.
