(June 21st)
Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle collision on the Trans-Canada Highway westbound between Butter Pot Park and Witless Bay Line on Sunday afternoon.
Shortly before 1:15 p.m. on June 21, emergency services were called to the scene. Upon arrival, crews located an overturned vehicle and a second damaged vehicle, both of which had come to rest off the roadway.
Firefighters and paramedics assessed at least three occupants at the scene. At least two people appeared to have been transported to hospital with unknown injuries
The collision caused traffic disruptions, with westbound traffic reduced to a single lane for a period of time. According to the Holyrood RCMP, the westbound lanes of the Trans-Canada Highway were closed until the damaged vehicles could be removed from the scene.
The Trans-Canada Highway westbound has since reopened to traffic.
